PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Traveling is a desire to escape from daily to non-daily, in other words, from normality to abnormality, but through time, the destination is a place where this abnormality is transformed back to normality. A step forward makes the unknown known, and all returns to familiarity again.

The contemporary people’s palace on the PABT is a summary of the order of the PABT. It represents the desire to shift from daily familiar life to new adventures. It is an escape, a transition between moving and resting.

Reading and watching are two activities that allow us to have the possibility to escape from our daily life to other adventures, whether into observation into other people’s lives or reflection on our deepest thoughts.

In the project, the upper floors are designed as libraries and storages  while the first floor mainly remains open and holds several performance spaces, which carve into the upper floor. The structure of the project has different scales, from housing some serving spaces including bookshelves to sheltering individual reading areas.
