A new diner style restaurant with a comfort food menu that opened at the same time as the hotel in San Diego's Gas Lamp District. The design was largely determined when I started helping on this project, so no I was NOT the lead designer. Aside from helping with the interiors documentation and helping to figure out the details, my major role was project management. I became the project manager and de facto project architect on this job. In this capacity, I made sure the design would work within the constrictions of the tenant space. Prior to my involvement, the space hadn't been accurately surveyed. Thus due to the relatively low ceilings, given the design aspirations, all of the mechanicals (ie hvac ducting) had to be re-conceived as well as coordinated with the lighting. This was suppose to have been done by another architect located in Portland, but didn't get done until my involvement due to that architect's remoteness.
This was work done while working at another company, see project history list for details.
