A master plan and conceptual design for 1500 bed hospital, education, and residential development for the new town in Xian, Technology and Logistics Center. The hospital design is unique within the typical Chinese healthcare approach in that it divides the inpatient beds into a series of five mini hospitals: Womens and Childrens, Orthopedic and Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, and International.
Programming, master planning, conceptual, and schematic design for a 1400-bed hospital combining six 200-400 bed hospitals into a unified structure. The differentiation of the hospital types (general, neurology, gynecology, international, cardiology, and pediatrics) creates a more humanely scaled environment while allowing each access to shared resources. The development also includes housing, hotel, and conference center. This project is on hold pending further development of the surrounding New Town. However, the design has become a model of progressive Chinese hospital design and has had deep influence on several other projects.
