Gammon Bem Central Kowloon Route Ventilation & Admin Buildings

The Central Kowloon Route (CKR) is a 4.7km dual three-lane carriageway connecting Yau Ma Tei Interchange with Kai Tak Development Area and Kowloon Bay's road network, forming a key trunk road across central Kowloon, Hong Kong. The HKG Gammon BEM CKR Ventilation & Administration Buildings Project includes one administration building (ADB) and three ventilation buildings (HVB, KVB, YVB) in Ho Man Tin, Kai Tak, and Yau Ma Tei. Hassell is working under Gammon to improve the reference design for these buildings.

For ADB and KVB, the Class A site covers 15,600 sqm with a plot ratio of 5.8, 97.50% building coverage, and a gross floor area of 17,200 sqm. HVB's Class B site covers 4,700 sqm with a gross floor area of 1,770 sqm, while YVB's Class B site covers 6,180 sqm with a gross floor area of 1,440 sqm. The ventilation buildings(VB) and the administration building are large pieces of infrastructure in an urban environment. The VBs includes MEP plant rooms, bypass plenum, fans room, APS rooms, and ventilation outlets for the ventilation buildings, while the administration building features basement parking, a lobby, shower facilities, a tunnel control room, a staff canteen, and a roof garden.
