Build to Heal: Supportive Housing For Ex-mentally Ill Patients

This project imitated from criticisms toward existing post-treatment and social reintegration schemes for mental patients, which has been known as highly institutional, standardized, and short-term supportive. Given the diversified social conditions and varying mental status of mental patients, standardized spatial requirement for patients has been recognized as an outdated model of healing. To cope with growing complexity throughout the post-treatment period, this studio is interest in the self-evolving nature of incremental design in time as strategy of treatment to develop a phased architecture initiating patients and families to grow their own therapeutic community.
