p2an, you go again, having saved everybody from luigi moretti ;-)
(the original luigi moretti post was villa saracena, then villa califfa, accademia di scherma, last one mixed use at corso italia 02 milan. I was ready to post the watergate complex in DC)
i was thinking luxembourg but looking out the window in the second picture, it does look like liechtenstein...and the work does look suspiciously swiss...yet, my search on liechtenstein architects has led me nowhere...
ok, simples you were getting there - i'll reveal it as i don't think anyone will get it.
it is from luxembourg, the office is steinmetz de meyer
and the project is an apartment and veterinary practice.
i like the sketches on their webpage (under projets habitat)...are there really so many offices doing great architecture through out europe?! i mean, this is all solid stuff...i look around in detroit, and i am getting pretty much nothing...
the project you posted is by the son, Jakob Steib of "Gmür & Steib" Wilfried and Katharina Steib's office is in basel, if it is still running.
i could have got this wrong though.
i posted on Thread Central inviting archinectors to post a new challenge here...i am afraid "name that architect and building" is starting to run off gas... - everyone is busy complaining about politics on archinect i guess!
i'm tired of being stumped and feeling stupid; I thought I knew architects but you guys are putting me to shame. The only way I can think to uplift my feelings is an unsactioned post - yeah baby
Name that Architect and Building!!!
I'll take a gander and go with Walter Gropius
sorry, the country would give it away but:
european
this and the above are from a later building
mixed use offices, appartments, parking and retail
same building
last one looks like luigi moretti, milan.
ok, the original post is Casa delle Armi a Roma (1933-1936).
(slow clap)
finally
whoa, yeah. it might be dead.
ok, i don't think we have had a project from this country yet...
but this is bloody fantastic
congrats p2an
Ponte City, Rodney Grosskopf, Johannesburg, South Africa
the very same! i saw some fotos recently of the pile of rubbish at the bottom of that core thrown out by the tenants, lovely stuff.

p2an...pluk...can you guys come out and play...things are a bit slow in the office today...
sorry haven't been on lately. so here we go -
is that in Prague?
i really like the scale of that. the window width pulls from the neighboring building.
its a nice little house, i especially like the big windows to the street.
and techno, no it isn't prague
ok, looks like ppl need a clue.
heres an apartment done by the same office - now this i really like!
wow. nice casework
Maybe also the same architect who designed this?
haha, yeah...the downlights are a bit much...
Ohhh is it Claudio Silverstrin? - I'm just throwing it out there, has the same aesthetic of much of his interiors. But i haven't checked his website
reminds me of "claesson koivisto rune" but their website is under development, so i can't confirm it...
techno, nope not silvestrin.
simples, i agree looks like ckr, but nope.
heres a clue - from a country not yet featured on this thread.
P2AN...I thought we had gone around the globe already...i still don't know...iceland?
ok, heres a BIG clue...very small country in europe...
liechtenstein?
i was thinking luxembourg but looking out the window in the second picture, it does look like liechtenstein...and the work does look suspiciously swiss...yet, my search on liechtenstein architects has led me nowhere...
yeah, i was thinking the same... it's most likely a GR or vorarlberg architect...
ok, simples you were getting there - i'll reveal it as i don't think anyone will get it.

someone else should put one up..
i like the sketches on their webpage (under projets habitat)...are there really so many offices doing great architecture through out europe?! i mean, this is all solid stuff...i look around in detroit, and i am getting pretty much nothing...
i will post somethign soon, but if anyone has anything else, go ahead...
til simples gets his act togethor...
thanks holz...i wasn't coming up w/ anything decent...
oh bugger, i know this one! Gmür & Steib Architekten, housing, zurich.
yep, easy toss up. i'm not sure which is more talented, but they do great work togethor and seperately
i'll let someone else post one, maybe we are due for a US one by now, i'd like to see some american stuff that i didnt know about.
also, isn't the son of wilfrid + katerina steib, of basel?
the project you posted is by the son, Jakob Steib of "Gmür & Steib" Wilfried and Katharina Steib's office is in basel, if it is still running.

3 houses, same architect:
1
2
3
monday morning bump.
trying to keep the game alive...hopefully this one isn't too difficult. i have a few hints ready if needed...
is this that same fla guy who you've posted before but whose name i can never remember? william martin? morgan?
no, not william morgan, and although one of these houses is located in florida, the architect is based in new york.
durn it.
more hints!
the architect is a long time Yale professor, and a graduate of RISD, who also attended CUNY for an urban design degree.
the architect also designed an almost-complete nyc condo bldg, one of the city's many recent and decent developer-client projects.
more hints to come if these aren't enough...
i'm tired of being stumped and feeling stupid; I thought I knew architects but you guys are putting me to shame. The only way I can think to uplift my feelings is an unsactioned post - yeah baby
