a-f...i am really intrigued by that building...great proportions...however, i propose the elimination of "this might be too easy, but..." from the beginning of any posts here...it makes me feel so stupid!!! that building does seem either mediterranean or latin-american...
p2an...i got a kick out of the richard rogers' parents house...1968...those must be some cool parents...
yeah i got 54-63.. so 54 might be design start.. who knows. I had never seen the Gobierno, good choice a-f... doing some more research makes me realize I really need to get a Sota book, amazing body of work.
yeah, sorry bout the baeza ref, definitely too much coffee today; I'll post one when I get home, and have more of my books to reference. Wouldn' want to give an easy one out...
nah, the interior looked interesting, the vault is incredible, but the exterior is hurting and i've admired baeza from day one, if he was doing that i'd probably cry. that self portrait is rather roark-ian
yeah, the baeza thing was a major fart; i hope i'm making up for it now, hehe.
Not baeza either, definitely not a winery. It's in the middle of a city, a capital.
Name that Architect and Building!!!

yep, spain it is!
And I won't use that slightly patronizing prefix again. I'm sorry!
Not even any guesses? Ok, maybe you recognize this project by the same architect:
i'm guessing madrid because of the buses... ...is this a research fcility of some sort?
oh wait, nm
diff. bdg, same firm... ....doh.
second building looks like a school, with rooftop basketball courts...in spain...and i still got nothing...
good call on the school... ...still stumped as well....
its Alejandro de la Sota
the first: Gobierno Civil de Tarragona (63)
the second: Maravillas College Gymnasium (61), perhaps more recognizable from it's interior structure:
well, that would have done it for sure. Interesting to see some different shots of these buildings, i.e., not the money shots.
i was guessing that first project was mid to early 70's...another page says it was completed in '54...good stuff...nice pick...

I'll post another one in a few.
next:
yikes...
i like the interior but can't identify with the exterior...
some crazy northern european thing?
same region, slightly later time period then a-f's entry..
haha... i'll agree about the exterior, but i like this exuberant interpretation (or ignoring) of the traditional religious architecture in the area.
by region, do you mean iberian, from near tarragona, south european? It might give too much of a hint, but i'm not sure exaclty what you mean ;)
yeah that was broad; it's in central spain.
ok, got it!
Pozuelo de Alarcon, Madrid
alberto campo baeza
... i think
.boy today is too much coffee day.
parroquia nuestra senora de cana
in pozuelo de alarcon...
Fernando Diaz Higueraz, architect?
right church.. wrong architect...
phew, if baeza did that there would be an architect assasinated tonight...
ahh there you go fernando higueras it is
yeah, sorry bout the baeza ref, definitely too much coffee today; I'll post one when I get home, and have more of my books to reference. Wouldn' want to give an easy one out...
a little late in his career as well (church is 1997). I give him credit for having one of the best self portraits ever on his casa Lucio Munoz:
ha holz you really weren't feeling that one were you? I just like the mc escher vault set up.
poncedeleonel you're up
nah, the interior looked interesting, the vault is incredible, but the exterior is hurting and i've admired baeza from day one, if he was doing that i'd probably cry. that self portrait is rather roark-ian
ok, here it is...

holler if you need a hint, or more photos.
damn!
well, this time i can't blame it on the coffee:
let's see if i got this right
...aaaaand a smaller version of the image.
oy vey!
well, i guess landscape photos need to be tiny:
oh, come on!
one last time...
ok, wow....that's funny......but I have no clue.......it's a bit small...just messin'
yeah...it's iberian, yet again.
here's one from the ground floor; not very different, but i'm not giving it away just yet:
somebody who's learned some tricks from siza...
RCR? off the top of my head...I will do a little looking now.
Not RCR...
He may have learned some tricks from Siza and his work, but does not fit into the Porto school.
dammit...i've seen this before...c'mon brain!!!
it does look like a baeza project...a winery...but i don't think it's it...
ps. the baeza brick mistake literally made me "gasp"
but then again...how many ways are there to design the exterior a long slender minimal while box (ps. i love long slender minimal white boxes!)
yeah, the baeza thing was a major fart; i hope i'm making up for it now, hehe.
Not baeza either, definitely not a winery. It's in the middle of a city, a capital.
its Souta de Moura
nope
right country
hmmm well then I'd say either Aires Mateus or Caravlaho Arajuo
nope
keep crossing them off
p&r arquitectos?
I'm gonna say ARX Arquitectos if Holz's isn't correct.
Adalberto Dias?
