New York, NY
In collaboration with Japanese Design Firm, Simplicity and General Contractor, Shawmut Design and Construction, MDA served as the Executive Architect for this intimate sushi restaurant hidden in the lower levels of the One Vanderbilt Tower in Midtown Manhattan. The space is entered through a small garden just off the building entrance from the tunnels of Grand Central. The dining area features a custom slab wood counter, sourced from a single log where seated guests dine while watching chefs work right in front of them. Hidden from view, behind the bar, is a private dining room which accommodate groups.
