The NYT sings praise for houseplans.com. Daniel Gregory, the site's editor in chief, explains that all you need to realize your modern home is your local builder. First Boston.com's "ditch the architect" and now this? Has the newspaper industry waged war on architects?

Journalists and architects: we're all crabs in a bucket.
We're climbing one over another tearing each other down and yet we're all about to get thrown into a boiling pot. Then the lawyers and financiers will have quite a feast (a feast in a crappy-looking Dryvit banquet hall, but a feast nonetheless)!
yes but you will need an architect to calculate the banquet room's occupancy load to determine the number of exits. of course, with a room full of lawyers and financiers you may want to chain the panic hardware before you flick your bic.
LOL, vado!
And this is why architects are on the ropes. Fools. Good house plans don't displace architects. They displace bad house plans. This is a fight architects lost many years ago. Time to get your head out of your a-- and get back in the fight.
