New York 'Tunnel' to London
At the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, people are communicating directly with people on London's South Bank.

The two 'Telectroscopes' are the creation of artist, Paul St George using a fibre optic link up between the two cities. BBC

Artists need to concentrate on making more fun stuff like this. If i see one more chelsea gallery with a guy sitting on a white stool in a white room eating an apple, I'm going to scream.

word.

maybe that guy on a stool is trying to raise funding to DO something like this. how does an artist get the money otherwise? sell sketches like christo? do a fundraising effort? maybe at&t could be a sponsor?

very cool thing. i'd like to see one in every major city. or just in random places around the world. maybe you could 'change the channel': london, moscow, kalamazoo, santa fe, rio de janeiro, ticino, louisville...

instead of just intellectually knowing that we're all becoming more connected, you could see/feel it based on seeing random actions, the dress, the messages of people at the other end.

how about a NYC-London archinectuers get together? we can stand at our respective ends of the tunnel with a few bottles of beers, and madly wave our placards.
