Almost 22 years after the Chernobyl nuclear reactor disaster in Ukraine, abandoned town of Pripyat haunts with its ghostly realness. Photos by Hans Fredriksson | Flight over Pripyat
i saw this exhibit at the CCCB (Barcelona) in 2004. Incredible. The most moving aspect of this exhibit was not the imagery of the place's desolation (which itself is pretty remarkable), but that of the genetically mutated animals and infants that were born in the aftermath of the nuclear event.
the video of the flight over pripyat has these amazingly intense sequences looking throught the front of the helicopter...it will stay with me for a while;

at least the TSA doesn't make us do this!
after i posted that video last night, i was so mesmerized by it, playing over and over, well into early morning.
The ferris wheel pictures are extremely eery.
