At Boston University, we’re home to more than 33,000 undergraduate and graduate students, nearly 10,000 faculty and staff, 17 schools and colleges from engineering to medicine, fine arts and hospitality, and 250 fields of study, which keep our campuses constantly humming. It takes creative problem solving, curiosity, inclusivity, collaboration and our hometown, the city of Boston, to make BU what it is today: one of the most dynamic research universities in the world.
Our slice of Boston along Commonwealth Avenue is like no other: a swirl of languages, faces and religions, over 500 student clubs, shows and lectures, state-of-the-art facilities from research to fitness centers, a slew of restaurants, and the thrills and spills of Terrier hockey. On any given day, students at BU will find themselves mesmerized by Pulitzer Prize winners, Fulbright Scholars, a Poet Laureate, among others in our talented faculty. These visionaries are also completing groundbreaking research in a variety of fields from biomedical to historical. Then, there’s our world-class students, the engine behind all that is BU, who come from all 50 states and 130+ countries to pursue higher education on our campuses in Boston as well as programs in LA, DC, and more than 30 other cities on six continents. When they’re not in the classroom, Terriers can be found hard at work completing internships across the globe, conducting research via a variety of opportunities at both the graduate and undergraduate level, and performing hands-on service to improve our local community.
