As a designer, I work hard and spend a great deal of time on a project until I am satisfied with the results. The design projects that I have been challenged with thus far have given me an important understanding of the challenges that designers face. I have worked through issues such as spatial requirements and restraints. I have also had some background in material specifications and in construction documents. My project work has also helped me to be- come more organized and has given me a better grasp of time management skills. I am a quick learner with computer programs and have been using Revit and VectorWorks on my design projects. I used AutoCAD at my both my co-ops at Boston University in the Planning and Design department of this private university in Boston, and Port City Architecture, a small architecture firm in Portland, Maine. Outside of design work, I have worked in the customer service industry, which has strengthened my interpersonal skills. I believe this is an especially important skill to develop when pursuing a field that is always looking for approval from a consumer.
