This competition addresses issues related to better quality of life and food in urban environments. The object is an urban chicken coop. Our proposal is developed around 4 aspects: a composition of basic shapes; the use of colors associated to the sensations they would have on chickens; recycled (and recyclable) and green materials (pvc pipes, pallet, scrap metal, urea-formadelhyde-free plywood); and the coop’s capability to be moved around (be it in one’s home or the cityscape). The space has 3 nests and two levels: feeding, lounging and roosting at the lower portion and nesting on the upper level. We hope our coop could not only motivate folks to eat better food (fresh organic eggs) but also bring awareness to a peaceful, symbiotic relationship between animals and the city and its citizens.
