I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Pernambuco, in Brazil. In New York City I have been working for over 10 years in highly reputable architecture firms, as well as developing projects on my own. Throughout my career I have participated in many architecture competions and taken several specialization courses. I am a member of the Architectural League of NY and a licensed architect in Brazil. In 2008 I joined the Certificate program in Green Building Design at Cooper Union University. Academically I have taught design and theory courses at Architecture undegraduate programs in Brazil. My latest work can be seen at http://coletivo-rt.tumblr.com/ . For work through 2008 please check http://www.anarolim.com/eng/.
My professional experience includes both architecture and interior design, with a focus on residential, hospitality and retail.
I believe architecture and interior design should aim to provoke unique and exciting spatial experiences, while respecting the environment and the nature and constructability of materials. I am interested in a non-universalist approach towards the design process, where its interaction with the the city and its users, contemporary art and culture play decisive role.
Here is a list of places I have worked at:
