thanks for reminding me...I have Youtube Red so no ads...Steven Reich is the name I always correlate with Nyman as contemorary (may be wrong caused by internet radio algorithms)
one of the upsides to this lockdown are all the DJ's and musicians just making tons of shit...home live performances, mixtapes, even some are producing new material.
That’s awesome! Saw them live once maybe twice, honestly can’t remember...Amazing energy at their shows, nobody seemed to ever mind that Flint couldn’t actually sing at all. If the machines winning sounds like The Prodigy, hurray for the machines!
I'll add, was rendering this at airports on my laptop and when I visited my German friends at their dorm we tried a makeshift render farm via some closet in the hallway...they were all goth metal gamer types, any challenge was fun...
So Random...made me think...as Grandpas explaining our techno shit to our grandkids, given our taste is OG late 90's....like this Jim Breuer bit elderly metal heads... hey kids, there was this guy named Josh Wink! serious acid on a 303 man with 909's...
going to watch the documentary next, so much to learn! /\
one of the Germans just to piss stiffs off would intentionally tell people he worshipped satan (in his black leather pants), shaved head and long beard, but in reality these guys were totally cool chill...and super smart.
Found a complete PJ song bracket tournament on reddit. I'm running through it on the side while WFH... going to be some very good listening for the next few days.
Another band that was heavily influenced by (the Dutch!) Urban Dance Squad. They decided to mix playing "real" instruments and rap since Check Your Head because of UDS...true story!

...fine, but I raise you mid 80s funk/rap/genius:
If you respond that UDS also did this first... I'm going outside.
UDS was the first band with a rapper and a scratcher apparently.
"But the Squad is different: where the Peppers that had their roots in funk in the late 80s, Fishbone in ska and Living Color in hard rock, UDS - thanks in particular to rapper Rude Boy and DJ DNA - had a much stronger base in hip-hop. A groundbreaking sound for Americans: the first band with rapper and scratcher in band line-up. "They hail from the Netherlands, and it may be their long-distance perspective that allows them to incorporate so many seemingly dissimilar elements into one powerful list. UDS has earned a position at the spearhead of the hip hop globe.""
NS I've had this same argument with Rando before, you can't win. Rage, Beastie, they all owe it to UDS apparently....Next thing he will tell us Van Halen s Dutch!..well technically Eddie and Alex were born in Amsterdam and their dad was Jan Van Halen...but they are distinctly California like Red Hot Chilli Peppers....
my brain appears to be an "associative type search engine"....bands that play what sounds like hip-hop or electronic, but it's actually a band and CARS, fast -

Ah yes, another fine example of an amazing artist that owes a lot to Urban Dance Squad (or at least their lyricist/vocalist Rude Boy)!
decades ago, a secret society of basement dwellers met and discussed Ray Bradbury's "The Martians Chronicles" and the purpose of one of the greatest plays/movies and albums of all time, by the Canadian GOD Neil Young (he's like 2nd fiddle to the Greek Gods)
Most these damaged buildings are insured. Architects will get hired to re-do the facades, and in landmarked districts, by law the buildings will have to be restored to traditional style. So let's all give the assholes (not the protestors) a round of applause (sarcasm or humour or whatever you want to call it)
was a terrible choice back on May 28th and 29th... still a terrible choice today. I did not know dumb christian rock bands needed bots to market their garbage. Tough times for everyone.

I'm not a bot Mr. it just happens to be the first song on my Player's Library when I set the shuffle program and I posted it. I am not a christian practitioner nor I don't care other people's choice of believe. I choose to ignore negative comments on my music tastes nobody cares but this is your second time and is getting annoying let others be.

I was near the front of the stage when they toured this album and got a great view of John playing this one. Fantastic live when played by the guitar wizard.

fuck no. Queens of the Stone Age was the opening act.
What music are you listening to?
Bad Religion - American Jesus
Classic.
Altın Gün - Goca Dünya
Sorry for posting this a second time, but was listening (yet) again, and here we are.
Don't know why this gives me so much joy... part of it is seeing the musicians' performances. Michael Nyman is a genius.
(It's worth waiting past the non-skippable YT ads; bastards.)
thanks for reminding me...I have Youtube Red so no ads...Steven Reich is the name I always correlate with Nyman as contemorary (may be wrong caused by internet radio algorithms)
Nice. Thanks!

Nickleback - Rockstar
nickleback is never the correct answer to this question

Finntroll - Solsagan. Not a video I'd link as it's rather dark. Great song though.
Fuuuuuuuck, that was rough. I need some Neil Young to cleanse my ears.

There is probably a strong link between His holiness, the great Neil Young and UDS.
UDS probably attended a Neil Young concert once.
They were shopping for a new opening act I guess ;)
One does not speak Ill of the great Neil Young.
How can that compliment be considered speaking ill, not just anybody opened for those guys ;)
Crash - 12 Stones
You made an account just to post this, twice?
pretty shitty christian-rock jive...
bruh...that's not the legit stuff like these guys...I just remember the guys at the church camp had cool t-shirts at the time for this band.
In honor of the Dutch theme, some JunkieXL (under his real name)
