I want to know what the hell happens to those mitered wood joints
when the humidity or temp change? If they do what I think they do
it might be a big client problem. Otherwise a sexy ass building!
the only inkling of a clue I've gotten that it's somewhere in the Art Gallery of Western Australia, but as far as i've read Gormley's piece is still on site and not indoors. i'm stumped.

As for the building above, I have no idea, but I like it.
agfa8x was the first to identify the sculptor, and has a guess on the building; i'd say that's good enough for now, at least until diabase comes back from lunch!
ha indeed it is. renovated from a two family home into a flower shop and greenhouse. The principal of the firm spoke in a somewhat recent pecha kucha in Italy.
another project by the same firm before I take off:
their site is among the most ridiculous (or annoying) i've seen for an architecture firm. the second house i posted for a hint is called the "yuppy ranch house". refreshing to see a sense of humor
Name that Architect and Building!!!
I'll go...
wicked, i need to get out of the west.
nice color...
Is that Terroir's Peppermint Bay Visitor Centre? And a couple of eighties 911s?
Im going to presume I'm right, but please correct me if I'm wrong diabase. I see you took both your porsches to tasmania.
(I use del.icio.us too)
Stuffed that post up good and proper. Here's another picture:
good grief.

It's actually concrete - GRC panels.

Those sculpture are Gormley, I think, and that exterior looks dusty enough to be australia...
is this a retrofit gallery in an hh richardson or botta project? also, do the grout joints align with the glass fins? niiiice
Yow. Interesting glass texture, too
oh, and agfa, those are the gormley sculptures from the 'inside australia' exhibition...
diabase...any more hints?! any more images!?
is Holz identification of the sculptures enough?
shall we move on!?

stumped and sick of the politics... back to architecture!

I was going to guess the Queensland GOMA, but I can't find proof!
Perhaps an exterior shot is called for ?

I wish it were possible to break page [is that like breaking wind ?] at will, to avoid that problem in image-heavy threads.
I'm starting to wonder if this isn't the work of "PhotoShop"....such an
excellent Architecture Firm.

Agfa8x...my vote says you are up!
National Gallery of Victoria by Robin Boyd. aussie aussie aussie!!!!
Liberty,
I agree about the problem but I think the solution would be this: add a go to last page button at the top of each page.
That would help. I only recently discovered the go to bottom of page
button ! But a way to trigger another page would be cool. . .
It should be p2an, I think, but to keep this thread rolling:
buenos aires?
Giancarlo Mazzanti - Biblioteca Parque Espana. awesome project.
more here. interior shot:
good pick.
phuyaka - go on, don't stop now
agfa...great project...phuyaka...thanks for the link w/ additional images...amazing project...this thread continues to give me hope in architecture!!!

I don't know where it is, what it does or who made it, but I want one. . .

another project by the same firm before I take off:
the roof:
Atelier Fleuriste Marco Segantin, Elastico SpA (Stefano Pujatti)
(found it via the Pecha Kucha hint)
I go past this building quite often.
nice legwork agfa.

Yes. That's Mt Eden in the background. The building is a school technology block right beside the motorway.
