Princeton University - Prospect House Renovation

This project, the complete renovation of an 1849 mansion, will create vibrant and welcoming spaces for the diverse Princeton community of today. The improvements will resonate and intersect with the historic architecture while creating a new, more inclusive home for events, dining, and faculty and staff gatherings. We are coordinating the work of an extensive consultant team to create state-of-the-art catering and conferencing capabilities within a designated National Historic Landmark, including a new outdoor extension of the kitchen that will help support the neighboring Princeton Art Museum.

Our design creates an airier, lighter facility that visitors of all physical abilities will enter via new gently sloped landscaped ramps and a new transparent entrance door. We are raising the main terrace to provide equitable access to outdoor spaces from the house for the first time. In addition to the complete architectural renovation of the building, including infrastructure, our scope includes all new finishes and furniture that help create a range of sensory experiences so that guests can find the spaces that work for them. We are working with the university to incorporate more widely representative artwork, as well as new signage and wayfinding for better navigation.
