The 6-story existing hotel, Building 144, was originally built in 1958 with a major building expansion project undertaken in 1962. Today, the 262,000SF hotel is operating under the management of Ramada Plaza Hotel. The Port Authority closed the Ramada Inn in 2009.
The main objective of this project is to provide the Authority with viable options to renovate the hotel using the existing structure with the addition of a new element to provide a larger room count. The new desing must be inventive and responsive to the opportunity to create a new gateway image for the airport.
