This Sketchbook is an analysis of urban "places" discovered while traveling for six weeks through Italy, France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I had just completed a study of Texas Town Squares with a grant from Charles Moore and was pursuing an enlightened dialogue with the European "town squares".
