"A to Z" by acclaimed Brazilian architect and designer Isay Weinfeld is his first U.S. exhibition, which opened on Nov. 12 at the ESPASSO gallery in New York City.
Celebrating Weinfeld's 40th year in practice, the retrospective features two exhibition pieces he made from sustainable tauari branco wood, a showcase of his furniture and product designs, and 13 new films he directed over the past year [...].

Now here's a little weekend inspiration. "Lucid Stead" is an art installation by Phillip K. Smith, III in the beautiful desert landscape of Joshua Tree in California.
With some mirrors, LED lights, custom built electronic equipment, and Arduino programming, Smith transformed a 70-year-old homesteader shack into an architecture piece that complements and contrasts with its peaceful environment throughout the entire day.

From the COLDSCAPES design competition earlier this year, an exhibition of the winning designs is currently on display hosted by the Kent State University Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative — a timely event as the weather grows colder in the U.S.
Last Friday's exhibition opening also celebrated the book launch of "COLDSCAPES: Design Ideas for Winter Cities", the sixth volume in CUDC’s Urban Infill Book Series.

Ryusuke Nanki, a Tokyo-based designer and former student of Shigeru Ban, was the head of production and design for the first European showing of the "L'art de Rosanjin" exhibition at the Guimet Museum in Paris that happened from July 3 to Sept. 9.
The continuous flow of the exhibition space, pillars, and beams are an ode to traditional Japanese architecture, while a soft palette of whites and grays express the sophistication of epicure and artist Rosanjin Kitaôji.
