The Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis announces their Spring '22 public lecture series. The school shares, "each semester, the Sam Fox School brings nationally and internationally recognized architects, artists, designers, landscape architects, urban designers, historians, and critics to campus, promoting new ideas in practice, theory, and technology. Invited speakers often interact with students during workshops and informal gatherings, in addition to participating in studio visits, where they conduct one-on-one reviews of work."
Kicking off their series is a lecture by H ARQUITECTES on February 3. On February 4, architect Yasmin Vobis of ULTRAMODERNE will kick off the school's annual Laskey Charrette followed by a lecture from Brian Richter, designer, artist, and visiting assistant professor of architecture at the University of Kentucky, on February 17. On February 22, acclaimed Mexico City-based firm Tatiana Bilbao ESTUDIO will present a lecture on her architectural practice. Architects Dwayne Oyler and Jenny Wu of Oyler Wu Collaborative will kick off the school's annual Fitzgibbon Charrette on February 25.
For the month of March, Oliver Schulze of Schulze-Grassov will launch The Lively City Workshop on March 2. Dutch architect Wiel Arets of Wiel Arets Architects will lecture on March 28. In April, the school welcomes Spanish architect Fuensanta Nieto of Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos on April 7 and 2021 Soane Medalist Marina Tabassum of Marina Tabassum Architects on April 11. Thomas Phifer of Thomas Phifer and Partners will conclude the school's public lecture series by delivering the CannonDesign Lecture on April 18.
In addition to esteemed architects and urban planners, the school's public lecture program also invites national and internationally renowned artists, designers, and scholars such as Lisa Lapinski, Robyn O'Neil, Dario Robleto, Nicole Miller, and Maya Muchawsky Parnas to name a few.
