Archinect's ongoing Get Lectured series highlights lecture and event programming at architecture schools while also showcasing the graphic prowess of each institution as they continue to adapt to in-person and virtual academic events. Continuing with the Spring '22 lecture series, we are taking a closer look at the latest public programming at the New Jersey Institute of Technology's Hillier College of Architecture and Design (NJIT HCAD). 

According to NJIT HCAD: "This Spring, the lecture series, currently organized by Kelly Hutzell and John Cays, focuses once again on ‘Design as Research,’ with speakers whose work will provide a lens on what is really meant by the words innovation and transformation, who present practices that integrate art, science and engineering, human perception, cognition, and experience, who design at the intersection of the digital and physical in architecture, who incorporate the rigorous measurement of environmental impacts into design, and whose insights on the practice as a whole will provide signposts on the design solutions we choose to follow."

On February 7, the school welcomed Nina Cooke John of Studio Cooke John. On February 21, researcher and designer Mathew Schwarz will present a lecture followed by a presentation from Dina El-Zanfaly of Carnegie Mellon's hyperSENSE: Embodied Computations Lab on February 28. Greg Lynn of Greg Lynn FORM will present his lecture on March 3. From March 29–31, the school's eCLAD symposium will be front and center. Concluding their lecture series is a presentation from Andrew Whalley of Grimshaw Architects at the Design Showcase.
