smelly...i am going to guess Siza's Villa Gaia swimming pool complex...it "feels" like it would be it...i've been to portugal 3x while my parents lived in lisboa...tons of hidden little gems...
AP....i am drooling over that concrete...i dig those scale models too!
i will go ahead and give it up so we can all drooling over the concrete. simples, it's a an earlier siza pool. the bathhouse at the swimming pools in leca da palmiera, you know the one:
Then I would say Waro Kishi; the walls have that criticism about them - I don't have to be anally smooth; I can be rough and sexy!! Although I can't find it on his website.
sorry a-f. i'll post another project by this architect later today if no one guesses correct. maybe jump would know...i'll see if i can lure him in here.
man AP that was tough... completely unfamiliar with that architect, that's why I love this thread. But to think some McDonald's designer knew about him...
nice mleitner. came across them awhile ago while searching for another project earlier in the thread. I like how refined their work is, i'm looking forward to seeing how they progress as the firm matures a bit.
AP, it's a little reno, looks just like a small outdoor eating area off the kitchen from the original house based on the pictures from their site
Name that Architect and Building!!!
sorry about that....the exposed link doesn't really give it away...just don't cheat! :-)

AP that's in Tokyo - now I can't remember the architect tho...but I will
Wait is it Toyo Ito? naw... too easy...

those sections remind me of dr seuss!
in tokyo, yes, but not Ito...

no, not kishi either...
hmmm.... I know this project, but can't remember from where... Isn't it Kenzo Tange?
sorry...i'm afraid this architect is not as well known as tange, ito etc.
beton brut!
Ok, but I know I've seen it before. I'm going to take a wild guess at Kazuo Shinohara - almost as obscure in the west as Les Rallizes Dénudés.
sorry a-f. i'll post another project by this architect later today if no one guesses correct. maybe jump would know...i'll see if i can lure him in here.
hmm... no idea but that stair is eerily similar to a mcdonald's entry on westlake & 6th in seattle...
it's right above the caddilac's windshield.
more work by same architect.
the concrete tower house is from 1966, and is the architect's own home. the newest house in these thumbnails is from 1993.
holz, i'm not sure what to make of the parallel you've drawn ;-)...
shin takamatsu? probably not...
i'm just saying someone designing mickeyd's spent some time in tokyo
not takamatsu, but that answer is one letter away from being half right.
Takamitsu Azuma
yes!
man AP that was tough... completely unfamiliar with that architect, that's why I love this thread. But to think some McDonald's designer knew about him...
next, something a little less brutal:
nice, i love that "outside room", similar tactic to some of aussie office donovan hill's work.
no idea who did this though.
well based on this addition's location I'd say it's a regional trend, one of the partners came from hill's office.
to bump this... the partners of the firm (i beleive) met while working at Bligh Voller Nield. the house won a RAIA National award.
Quite an insanely largeRAIA Award Winner Database. Have not found the project yet. "Coastal" or "country" residence?
yeah i guess that's not a really good hint. the office is relatively new, and located in Brisbane. the house is in the outskirts of the same area.
Chapel Hill House by Owen and Vokes
(only possible with hints, must have some good teachers in Aussieland)
i'd like to see more of the pitched roof 'house' portion of the project. is it a renovation + addition?
Can't post right now. Someone else... Holz?
holz is hunching, sorry

I've seen something like this in China, I think...
wow. that's exquisite.
hmmm... looks more arid...
reminded me of this, only a lot better. nice find.
mada spam - Qingyun Ma - Father's House. very nice project.
...
next:
i could guess wiel arets, but i expect p2an would've beat me to that one.
Villa in Merivälja
ArhitektuuriAgentuur
next up:
also by the architect, this gem:
reminds me of a house i grew up in near cuesmes
bumpitty bump...
cuesmes is in belgium
no clue, but i really like those little punched windows.
yeah, i have no idea what they signify, though.
time to nap....
Woah... don't mean to pushy, but this one is not yet resolved:
Hint:
Country is T _ _ _ _ _
wait mleitner, it's not the house by mada spam that AP called? it looks a whole lot like it
MADA s.p.a.m.
wow, it is similar.
oops!
