The Xiangyuan World Flower Eco-Tourism Expo Center is located in the Huagang Town of Feixi County. Total area for the entire Expo Center is 9.7 Square kilometre, with a total investment of 720,0000,000 yuan. The concept for the entire Center is that the entire development of residential, commercial, industrial and retail spaces is organized around enormous flower gardens exhibiting flowers and trees of many types from the region and globally. Since this was expected to also many attract tourists from across the region and nationally to the Center, a tourist reception exposition hall was needed to provide as a gathering and information location before the visitors explored the gardens. 

The exposition hall is a multi-use entertainment hub comprised of a green house, flower market, information theater, retail, restaurants and a sales hall for the nearby residential areas on the garden grounds. The exposition hall sits adjacent to the main tourist entrance and parking area, and next to the large central lake. Its location allows for immediate access to the array of walking paths that go around the lake and through the gardens.  

The building is designed as a leaf that is gently laying on the ground. Much like a leaf, the roof of the structure collects rainwater for use in the gardens and greenhouse, it collects sunlight to convert to energy to help power the building, and its transparent and translucent panels carefully mold the sunlight so as to minimize the solar radiation in the summer and maximize it in the winter. This solar management creates wonderful daylit spaces throughout and helps to save energy. So acting as a leaf would in nature, it creates a wholly sustainable environment that is central to the theme of Eco-tourism for the entire garden development.
