Guangxiu Health Management Center is led by Dr. Lu Guangxiu, a renowned assisted reproduction
expert and the Director of the National Engineering Research Center of Human Stem Cells. The
center is intended to provide significant high-end medical services, including physical examination,
cell immunization, rehabilitation and medical plastic surgery, cell storage, sperm bank, and egg bank. By using precise positioning with appropriate medical treatment to manage the whole process of health risk factors and to realize the three-level prevention process (from examination to evaluation
to intervention cycle), this allows the Center to provide accurate, personalized , professional, and
continuous medical services. The target clients are the high income groups interested in pursing a
high quality of life.

The project is located at the intersection of Tongzipo Road and Lu Yun Road in Changsha, on the
Guangxiu Hospital grounds.The site is rectangular with a flat terrain and even traffic. The main hospital building is to its north side, and the health management center will rely on the hospital’s medical resources to provide strong assurance for its operations. The integrated design services include architectural design, landscape design, interior programs, medical procedures and VI design, all of which to provide for an excellent start for health management center and to bring brand new design style for medical architecture.

The building and interior design is drawn from the continuous shape of DNA as its main design
element. Metal panels and a variety of glass materials embrace the building and form the balcony,
finally terminating in the roof garden, forming an interwoven facade. The massing and balconies
combine together to make these visual elements become functional. This sculpted facade creates a
continuous surface by angling the exterior walls of each floor following a DNA pattern to activate and
to connect the whole building and create an unified appearance. The building exterior, landscape
and interior design follow the same visual organization so that the building has a very high identity
and fully embodies cell technology, and Guangxiu’s message regarding health and life management support.
