Project Purpose: Clocks, a device not only used to tell time, but with the addition of scheduled performances, can also unite a community. Located at the Faculty of Architecture in Chulalongkorn University, The Performative Clock will not only be exclusive for architecture students to appreciate and enjoy, but will also serve as an attraction for visitors elsewhere. Uniting the community via attractive customized motifs, The Performative Clock will give visitors an abstracted glimpse inside the mind of an architecture student.
Concept : The design of the clock aims to instill the identity of “Architecture” with scaffolding - An iconic structure found centuries ago used to help, aid and maintain incomplete stages of construction. By deriving an aspect of architecture which has remained relatively unchanged throughout time, the form conveys a sense of timelessness.
