Project description:
The aim of the project Temptation to be Together was to design and construct a platform or redesign part of the ground that already has the potential to be inhabited. Our team questioned, reconsidered, and reevaluated the meaning of public space in Bangkok. The areas we explored, within the domain of the Chao Phraya River, are one of the most scenic locations in the city. Finding the right location posed numerous challenges, as land rights and potential space usage contradict one another.
Since we decided to work on the territory of a temple where many activities are taking place, we approached the design via three main aspects: modular, transformative, and movable. Modularity helps with the cost of production. Transformability and movement enable flexibility in the use of the platform. As a team of architectural students, we engaged in real-life actions beyond our studies, including permissions and legal affairs, finance, communications, and coordination of various processes.
