WaterLink addresses the dilemma of the upcoming L train shutdown while offering a permanent solution to overcrowding along the 14th Street corridor. It proposes a corridor that links the Hudson and East Rivers while providing centralized multimodal transit hubs to connect ferry and subway routes. At street level, it proposes a series of bioswales and elevated green spaces to improve stormwater retention, provide recreation, decrease heat island effect, and encourage the use of 14th Street as a public space.
