Since opening in December 2010, this restaurant in the West Village has gained a reputation for its exceptional ambiance and unique design. The aim was to create an atmosphere that feels like home, where guests could enjoy a private dinner in an intimate historic structure. Extensive renovation was undertaken to stabilize the 1826 Greenwich Village carriage house and reveal its historic beauty by removing layers of architectural damage.

Guests can enjoy the lush garden and cobbled brick pavers outside through the large French casement windows and doors. The original wood floors and beams have been repurposed to create sliding wooden barn doors and decorative trim throughout the interiors. The restaurant also features a multi-level dining space and a private wine cellar accessible through new entry stairs from the rear garden.

Sustainability and social responsibility were important considerations in the design process. The use of low VOC environmentally-friendly paints and sealers, double-insulated windows, recycled materials, and energy-efficient lighting, mechanical, and plumbing aligns with the restaurant’s mission. This charming neighborhood venue offers a delightful dining experience that combines thoughtful design and a commitment to sustainability.
