Greenwich Village Renovation

What began as a modest renovation for a professional couple and their English Bull Terrier grew into an opportunity to bring the spatial experience of a loft to an apartment of once discrete spaces. Central to the work was transforming the master bedroom into a boutique-hotel-like suite with an integrated bathroom. A centralized open vanity with layered lighting is flanked by a separate toilet stall and a frosted glass shower open to the bedroom; a new partial height walk-in closet with clerestory glass allows daylight from the adjacent living room to pass creating a loft-like experience. Within the open living and dining areas, an abandoned wood-burning fireplace was expanded and converted to gas; a formerly dark kitchen was enlarged into a bright, light, airy background with integrated appliances and custom lacquered cabinetry.
