Sadly there has not been much activity on this blog for sometime. And whilst this may sound like the typical archinect school blog excuse/response, mine had to do with my teaching schedule. I am one of the few who are blogging from the other side so to speak, the voice of academic staff and last semester I had the sole responsibility to deliver the history and theory to the undergraduate architectural studies + design studio. By the end of the academic year I was teaching the summer studio and it went downhill from there.
But things have changed. So let's start afresh.
Hi my name is David.
This is my school blog from the other side. Not only the other side of the podium, but the other side of Jamaica and the Caribbean beyond sunshine and coconut trees.

Hi David!
Do you prefer if your students call your 'Professor', Mr. Cuthbert, or David?
It probably would have helped if you had a graduate teacher's assistant last year. So what's it's like on the other side - being the voice of the academic staff? What would you like to say?
@ Barry - I prefer being called David. I often joke calling me Mr. Cuthbert may have me looking around for my father, truth be told I just don't recognise myself by that title and students may think I'm just ignoring them.
@ Michaelia, as you very well know I did have a graduate teaching assistant. And she performed above & beyond all expectations. And my performance and to a large degree my sanity lay squarely on her efforts last during the semester. Ladies and gentlemen meet Michaelia my very talented graduate teaching assistant.
