The creation of output that is declared waste can be considered nothing to our immediate day to day life. However, the temporality of this declaration within the supply and demand chain has resulted in tangible dividends that have no positive value - rather they only serve as a marker of an extinguished demand to satiate a basic need. Unfortunately, these markers are forced to make unaccompanied journeys to the edges of the world. Some are spared in recycling centers, others are left to destroy environments. This multifaceted pavilion consists of two parts; a wooden scaffold and reefs 3D printed from spools of recycled water bottle filament. While the manicured composition of voids holds nothing, they will hold everything from its placed environment. Whether that be residue from a host city or a patron’s rubbish, this proposal will rely on the lack of stewardship of its surroundings to craft its message. Unlike a real coral reef, since each bale will be printed - it will be generally easy to replace any damaged pieces.
