My thesis project consist on a very simple house, with basic minimum spaces needed for a family between 4-6 members. The purpose was to make a self sufficient affordable house with a simple construction method that was energy efficient, water saving, ecological, bioclimatic and at the same time aesthetic.
The project was to be located in the city of Culiacan, Sinaloa which is a very warm city with hi levels of humidity that make the use of air-conditioning basic for comfortable living, which makes the energy usage a lot higher and therefore makes a big impact on the family economy.
In order to tackle this issue we implemented the usage of solar panels and calculated the efficiency and viability of a purchase like this. Also the house was design with materials that soften the heat impact on the house, we implemented thick walls, green roofs, green walls, ventilation, building orientation, water recycling and we collected rain water in order to take as much advantage of the elements as posible therefore making the house more independent from the public grid and making it economical on the long run and eco friendly.
