Difference and Repetition

This class was divided into Ancient History and Modern History of Tokyo, the first was run thru Japanese architecture from the first Japanese settlements to modernity and the Metabolist movement. The second half covered Modern Japanese architecture till this day.

The conclusion of this seminar was to create a discourse of something that is common in Japanese architecture ending up with an intervention to a very classic symbol of this great movement, which is the Nagakin Tower in Ginza.

With this we seek to study the reasons for the projects failure and to propose a better solution to its technical problems and too make of the Capsule Tower a more functional piece of architecture.
