The Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts is an important civic building in downtown Greensboro, NC. As a focal point for the arts, it is a symbol of the city’s growth and commitment to nurtur- ing a lively downtown lifestyle. Conceived as a Broadway-style tour- ing venue, the 3,000 seats venue is housed in 65,000 square feet of functional, flexible space. This ground up construction project cost $93 Million and was scheduled to open in March of 2020.
Along with one of H3’s principals, Rodrigo managed this project through contract administration to its completion. His responsibili- ties included coordinating the engineering consultants, local archi- tects and the construction manager, while communicating with the client. As the contract administrator, he responded to RFI’s, man- aged BIM 360 and Procore portals while producing multiple con- struction details for theatrical acoustics, lighting, and mechanical systems. As the site representative, Rodrigo spearheaded on site visits and developed punch lists during multiple site visits. When additional fund-raising rendering were needed, Rodrigo created in- terior and exterior renderings as well as creating the detailed sig- nage package.
