Gulfshore Playhouse is Naples’s first professional theatre company and fills a niche in a community that values the performing arts. The professional self-producing theatre brings Broadway quality shows to Naples, and after years of renting their facility, will begin construction on their own theater in early 2021. Their new 56,000 square foot complex will feature a 375-seat multi-purpose theater, and a 150-seat black-box studio. The distinct, sculpted architec- ture reflects the innovative spirit of the performances taking place within while carefully selected exterior materials respond to the local climate of Southwest Florida.

Rodrigo worked on this project from the conceptual design phase through the completion of the construction docuements phase. During the schematic design phase, he developed layouts for the main theater and studio theater, building the original central Revit file and producing scale study models. During construction docu- ments, Rodrigo was responsible for the building’s exterior, produc- ing details for all exterior wall conditions, including curtain walls, theatrical walls, and the exterior canopy, among others.
