The Wind Energy Education Center is an interpretive
center designed to provide the visitor educational
experiences in addition to a phenomenal sensory
experience. Sited nearby existing wind farms the
building offers views of the surrounding sculpture
filled landscape. The building becomes not only
a refuge and exhibit center but an instrument of
wind. The projects form was developed through
studying the vernacular of the area. Many of the structures
are dilapidated with wall panels torn from
its façade, leaving behind bare structure. Remnants
of metal corrugation left twisted and now part of
the landscape, we wanted to create a similar experience.
The corrugated walls twist and morph into the
earth, then re-surface as if making a full revolution.
