Axis is a recreational facility consisting of: a market, training
complex, park space and a cultural arts center sited on three
existing wharves in Havana, Cuba. The designer was motivated
to rehabilitate the area of Havana by developing a center for the
community that revives connection with the city and inhabitants.
The design utilized the existing pathways to reconnect the
site with the city. The extensions divided the site programmatically;
creating park space, views in and out, multi-use space,
and circulation. I was brought on for collaboration to create
a better understanding of the site and space through model.
