Following our previous look at an opening for Healthcare Planners at Flad Architects, we are using this week’s edition of our Job Highlights series to explore open roles on Archinect Jobs for visualization positions at Rafael Viñoly Architects and Brandon Architects.
Rafael Viñoly Architects is seeking a Visualization Designer to join their New York studio, requiring an individual to create “high-quality digital imagery, including photorealistic CGI renderings, rendered plans, elevations, and/or axonometric drawings for design presentations.” Meanwhile, Brandon Architects seeks a 3D Render Artist to support the team “pushing the boundaries of luxury living” by managing their visualization projects.
As our Archinect In-Depth: Visualization series continues, the open roles at Rafael Viñoly Architects and Brandon Architects offer us the opportunity to explore the skills and attributes that architecture firms look for in architectural visualization designers.
For Rafael Viñoly Architects, rendering tools used in visualization include VRay, Corona, D5 Render, Lumion, Twinmotion, and Unreal, alongside modeling software Rhino and Revit. Viñoly also seeks individuals who will “utilize AI tools for design visualization and image generation, while researching and testing new AI technologies to discover innovative workflows for image creation.”
Meanwhile, Brandon Architects’ list of preferred software in architectural visualization aligns with that of Viñoly, including 3ds-Max, Corona, Unreal Engine, Twinmotion, Lumion, and Enscape. Both Brandon Architects and Viñoly also see qualifications in architecture, interior design, or the visual arts as necessary for their roles.
Architectural visualization workflows were also the subject of our previous conversation with visual artist Alexis Christodoulou as part of our Archinect In-Depth: Artificial Intelligence series, in which Christodoulou offered us an insight into the various tools and software his team deploys when creating eye-catching visuals.
“Our production software is Cinema 4D, with Redshift as our renderer,” Christodoulou told us. “Unreal Engine is a sort of play area for us to test ideas internally, but if a client came into the office for a commercial project, we would use Cinema 4D and Redshift to deliver that.”
“Elsewhere, DaVinci Resolve is where we do all of our color grading and editing,” Christodoulou continued, adding that “for stills, we also use Lightroom and Photoshop.”
Job Highlights is one of a number of ongoing weekly series showcasing the opportunities available on our industry-leading job board. Our Meet Your Next Employer series profiles and interviews interesting studios with open positions currently available on Archinect Jobs, while our weekly roundups curate job opportunities by location, career level, and job description.
