Today, our Get Lectured previews continue with the lectures and public events on deck for the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in Los Angeles for the Spring 2024 academic term.
The semester has already seen Hernán Díaz Alonso and Sir Peter Cook’s visit on Monday, January 8, and will be followed next by the fourth episode of the school’s career-focused B(l)ackspace conversations series broadcasting live from the W.W. Keck Lecture Hall on Friday, February 2. That event will be followed by a lecture from Markus Miessen on Wednesday, February 7, and the month ends when the 2023 Dorfman Award winner Gabriela Carrillo stops by for a visit on Tuesday, February 27.
The month of March begins with a lecture from Benedetta Tagliabue on Wednesday, March 6. She is followed by UCLA AUD professor Hitoshi Abe on March 13. Abe’s ‘Remix’ lecture precedes the launch of Elena Manferdini and Jasmine Benyamin's new title, Full Spectrum: Colour in Contemporary Art, on Friday, March 22. Their event is followed by a guest appearance from Shanghai-based architect Ali Rahim on March 27. Finally, the term ends with an explanation of the role film has played in the recent work of the multidisciplinary studio Clocks with co-founder Mahfuz Sultan on April 4.
