As the 2023-24 academic year unfolds, Archinect is looking at all the exciting events at architecture schools nationwide with our Get Lectured series. Today, we look at events and speakers coming to Tulane School of Architecture, beginning with Professor Margarita Jover’s presentation ‘Cities & Rivers: architecture beyond the object’ on October 16.
The school shares: “This year, Tulane School of Architecture has themed our lecture series 'Thinking Out Loud.' Our intent is to redirect attention from conventional architectural outcomes to the underlying ideologies, conceptual structures, and foundational thought processes that drive groundbreaking architectural pursuits.”
Princeton University School of Architecture Dean Monica Ponce de Leon follows Jover on October 23, preceding a lecture from RISD’s Jacqueline Shaw on November 13 to conclude the Fall term. The spring begins with Rice University Assistant Professor Maggie Tsang’s lecture on March 4, followed by Felecia Davis on April 8. Finally, the Spring concludes with a lecture from Columbia GSAPP’s Weiping Wu April 15.
The school's 2023-24 Lecture Chair is Zaid Kashef Alghata. Events will be held on Mondays at 5:30pm at the Freeman Auditorium at Tulane's Uptown Campus in New Orleans. Learn more about the school's Fall event programming here.
