SCI-Arc presents their Spring 2021 public programs. This lecture series welcomes an array of esteemed guests whose lectures touch on topics ranging from an array of disciplines including film, music, art, dance, politics, and more. In addition to their upcoming lectures, the Spring term hosts SCI-Arcs annual Spring Show and the virtual exhibition Architectural Bestia, curated byHernán Díaz Alonsoand designed by M. Casey Rehm.

In January SCI-Arc welcomed a lecture by Richard Rothstein where he leads a powerful discussion about segregation in America through his book "The Color of Law". Following Rothstein was a week-long series of lectures and events titled Black Lives Matter Week of Action. The institution shared, "Black Lives Matter Week of Action is a national, student-run event, held during the first week of February, dedicated to unapologetic conversations and presentations on Black culture, expression, and justice." Organized by Undergraduate students Allyn Vialt (B.Arch '21) and Babatunde-Majadi Adejare (B.Arch '23) the event welcomed conversations from SCI-Arc faculty in addition to a line-up of leaders and advocates for change and progress within the profession. Guest speakers included Pascale Sablan, Bryan Lee Jr., Charles L. Davis II, Kahlila Williams, Elegance Bratton, Rayvn Wngz, Ben Caldwell, Kordae Jatafa Henry, Marlon West, William Virgil, and many others.
Continuing in the month of February was a lecture from Cruz Garcia and Nathalie Frankowski of Wai Architecture Think Tank that took place on February 2nd. Tatiana Bilbao will present on February 17th and Yinka Ilori of Yinka Ilori Studio will end the month's presentations with a lecture on February 24th. Mabel O. Wilson kicks off March with her lecture on the 3rd, Annie Chu and Rick Gooding of Chu+Gooding will present on March 17th. Raúl Cárdenas Osuna of Torolab will present on March 24th and faculty member and Principal of First Office, Anna Neimark, will speak on March 31st.
The virtual exhibition, Architectural Bestia, curated by Hernán Díaz Alonso and designed by M. Casey Rehm will open on April 2nd and run through August 31st. "The exhibition gathers a key set of practices, primarily from architecture, but also from art and fashion, to reveal facets of the strange beast that the tumultuous paradigm shifts of recent decades have left behind." The 15th annual Spring Show co-curated by Aminatou Fall and Zeina Koreitem will be on May 22nd and the final lecture of the series will be given by Madebo Fatunde and Kahlil Joseph on a date April 7th.
