Kent State University and the Cleaveland Urban Design Collaborative (CUDC) present their Spring 2021 lecture programming. The CUDC is a non-profit community design center that is part of Kent State University's College of Architecture and Environmental Design. This Spring lecture series "democratic processes, space" features a line-up of architects, academics, landscape architects, and social justice advocates who will share their research.

In the month of February, the school had welcomed lectures from LaFevre Emerging Practioner Fellow Galen Pardee, Brad Samuels of SITU, and artist and Mandel Leadership Fellow at Case Western Reserve University Lexy Lattimore. Continuing through March and April Kent state welcomes Billy Fleming, Al-Jalil Gault, and Xan Lillehei on March 5th. They will discuss their work and research regarding the Green New Deal. On March 12, landscape architect Andrew Sargeant, ASLA will present his lecture "Landscape Singularity: Innovative Tools for Design and Engagement." Miriam Solis, PhD, MCP who is the Assistant Professor of Community and Regional Planning at the University of Texas at Austin will lecture on March 19th. she will present her talk "Equity Ecosystems: The Role of Organizational Change in Advancing Racial Equity Through Climate Mitigation Plans."
On March 26, Biko Mandela Gray, Assistant Professor of Religion at Syracuse University will discuss his work and recent book project focusing on racial justice movements and their relationship to religion and subjectivity. Concluding the lecture series is the American Roundtable: Mahoning Valley Report led by the CUDC Editorial team and Report contributors. This event is organized by the Architectural League of New York.
