Archinect has hired editor, writer, and designer Antonio Pacheco as its new managing editor.
Antonio is responsible for developing editorial content, covering breaking and professional news, and will oversee the ongoing development of Archinect’s editorial team in accordance with the publication’s evolution of editorial.
Antonio comes to Archinect following a three-year run as West Editor for The Architect’s Newspaper, where he led coverage of regional, national, and international developments in architecture, design, and urbanism from a west coast perspective. During this time, Antonio developed a special focus on preservation issues relating to architectures of the recent past while also documenting the region’s shifting urban configurations and providing critical insight into these trends. Antonio has interviewed many of the leading figures of contemporary architecture, including Denise Scott-Brown, Frank Gehry, Rem Koolhaas, Jeanne Gang, and others.
Antonio’s writing has been published in The Creator’s Project (Vice Media), Failed Architecture, ArtNet, and Preservation in Print magazine, among other publications.
Paul Petrunia, Archinect's Founder and Director, expressed his excitement for the new hire, "Antonio has an especially keen eye for recognizing issues that are critical to architects and the built environment, with a talent for communicating them through thoughtful editorial. We're thrilled to have Antonio at the helm as we continue to evolve our editorial coverage."
Antonio earned Masters of Architecture and Masters of Preservation Studies degrees from Tulane University in 2014, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010.
In addition to his work as a writer, Antonio has worked as a designer in a variety of architecture firms, including Heyday Partnership, LA Más, and Office of Jonathan Tate. Antonio sits on the exhibition committee of the Architecture + Design Museum in Los Angeles and serves as communications manager for Materials & Applications.

Congrats Antonio!
Well deserved! Congrats!
Antonio don't ever change, don't let them make you iron your shirts...
Don't get me wrong here... I love a good ironed shirt as much a as the next guy, but that pocket square has gotta-go.
it works because he has glasses and a clean haircut
Congratulations Antonio!
