Rem Koolhaas/OMA to design proposed Manchester Arts Centre, “The Factory”
The Manchester City Council announced that Rem Koolhaas/OMA will design The Factory, the proposed £110 million (approx. US$166.3 million) Manchester Arts Centre in England. Koolhaas won the commission in an international design competition over fellow starchitects including Zaha Hadid, Mecanoo, Grimshaw Architects, Rafael Viñoly, DS+R, and Haworth Tompkins.
Chandigarh Unbuilt winners reinterpret Le Corbusier’s Museum of Knowledge

Architecture at Zero 2015 winners propose zero-energy student housing building
For the fifth edition of the competition, the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) challenged professional and student participants to design a zero-net energy, student housing building for a site on the University of California - San Francisco Mission Bay campus. Sneak peek of Marte.Marte’s “Appearing Sculptural” exhibition at Aedes Architekturforum
After a successful first exhibition at Berlin's Aedes Architekturforum in 2009, Austrian practice Marte.Marte architects is returning with a two-part exhibition called "Appearing Sculptural" in December. The architects will preview their latest schemes and showcase their previous notable works (which are stunningly photographed).
