CTBUH announces 2015 Best Tall Buildings regional winners
CTBUH revealed the four regional winners in the 2015 Best Tall Buildings awards. An overall "Best Tall Building Worldwide" winner will be chosen out of the four structures, but that won't be announced until this fall. (Pictured: Americas regional winner: One World Trade Center)
SelgasCano’s 2015 Serpentine Pavilion now open to the public
SelgasCano's 2015 Serpentine Pavilion finally opened to the public last Tuesday in London's Serpentine Galleries. The "psychedelic chrysalis" structure features pastel stained glass-like tunnels, a cafe, and a lounging area that altogether create an enticing environment for visitors of all ages.
Shortlist highlights for the 2015 World Architecture Festival
This year's World Architecture Festival live competition and awards won't take place until November, but get a preview of what's ahead with the 2015 shortlist. To the lighthouse: Moreau Kusunoki Architectes selected to design Guggenheim Helsinki
Paris-based Moreau Kusunoki Architectes has mostly worked out of the limelight...until now. To say the least, the firm won the big Guggenheim Helsinki Design Competition last week. Read more about Moreau Kusunoki on Archinect here.
Human Organs-on-Chips wins Designs of the Year Award 2015
The Design Museum in London announced "Human Organs-on-Chips" by Harvard University's Wyss Institute as the 2015 Designs of the Year winner. The microchip is lined with human cells that enable it to mimic the functions of a living human organ, which results in a potentially new method for testing drugs and conducting medicinal drug research.

Flashback: EKKLESÍA lights up the streets of Fallas Festival 2015 in Spain
Miguel Arraiz García of bipolaire arquitectos and David Moreno Terrón of pink intruder designed EKKLESÍA for Spain's yearly spring tradition, the Fallas festival. The installation was built out of cardboard tubes affixed into a cubic form atop a colorful mosaic floor consisting of 96,000 pieces of wood. In accordance to the festival's tradition, the structure was burned to the ground at the end of the event.
“Caesura” sound installation preps for June 27 opening at Harlem Arts Festival
"Caesura" by Harlem-based practice Jerome W Haferd and K Brandt Knapp in collaboration with artist Jessica Feldman debuted at the Harlem Arts Festival this past weekend. The pavilion will be a temporary public gathering space at the Marcus Garvey Park while the park's iconic Mount Morris Fire Watchtower undergoes reconstruction.
