Archinect presents DRY FUTURES, an ideas competition addressing California’s severe drought
Archinect is inviting everyone to send their design ideas to Dry Futures. The ideas competition seeks imaginative, pragmatic, idealist, or even dystopic design proposals that address California's severe drought. Send your ideas by September 1.
The Field Constructs finalist installations, results TBA!
Field Constructs had participants propose a temporary outdoor installation for an abandoned landscape in East Austin, Texas. Winning designs — which will be announced soon — will be built for a local arts festival this fall.

REMINDER: Register for the ChiDesign CADE competition by August 7!
As learning spaces become more open and communally oriented, the Chicago Architecture Foundation launched the first ChiDesign ideas competition as a means to explore possible models for future educational facilities in the form of a Center for Architecture, Design, and Education (CADE). Register by August 7! Entries are due September 9.
Shortlist highlights of the 2015 Structural Awards
Another edition of the Structural Awards is almost coming to a close. Every year, the Institution of Structural Engineers celebrates the achievements and innovations of structural engineers worldwide, as well as their crucial roles in creating design solutions for our built environment. 2015 George Matsumoto Prize winners for North Carolina modernist homes
Educational nonprofit archive North Carolina Modernist Houses (NCMH) shows some hometown spirit in their annual George Matsumoto Prize for North Carolina Modernist residential architecture. To this day, Le Corbusier's vision for the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh, India remains incomplete, and among those unfinished elements is the Museum of Knowledge. Chandigarh Unbuilt invites all architects, students, engineers, philosophers, artists and the like to envision a Museum of Knowledge for the 21st century.
