Design Museum announces Designs of the Year 2015 category winners
The Design Museum in London announced the category winners of their annual Designs of the Year competition. This year's batch includes deformed vegetables for an anti-food waste campaign, a distinctive eco-friendly university building, and microchips that imitate human organs. Winners of the Mongolian Cool School Design Challenge
Participants in the Building Trust International's 6th annual competition submitted designs of an extreme climate-resilient school for a community in Khovd, Mongolia, where local inhabitants have to face subzero temperatures during the winter months. RIBA celebrates 2015 London Awards winners

Winners of the 2015 AIA San Francisco Design Awards
The AIA San Francisco Design Awards attracted over 200 submissions of projects in the Bay Area. The 2015 program was restructured into three categories (Architecture, Interior Architecture, Unbuilt Design) and three concentrations: Historic Preservation, Urban Design, and Social Responsibility. Frank Gehry wins 2015 Getty Medal
The J. Paul Getty Trust announced Frank Gehry as the third recipient of the Getty Medal, which recognizes living individuals worldwide for their leadership in the cultural disciplines in which the Getty works.
NASA + America Makes launch 3D Printed Habitat Challenge for Mars
NASA and America Makes co-launched the $2.25 million 3D Printed Habitat Challenge. Phase One of the multi-stage competition is currently seeking architectural concepts for a 3D-printed human shelter for Mars.
Send your design ideas to aid Cambodia’s Tonlé Sap Lake community
All architects, designers, students, and multidisciplinary teams are invited to submit designs of a floating/movable structure to serve the remote Floating Village communities of Tonlé Sap Lake, a Cambodian UNESCO site that is now severely threatened by increasing levels of pollution and disease.
