Philharmonic Hall of Szczecin wins 2015 Mies van der Rohe Award
Philharmonic Hall of Szczecin in Szczecin, Poland by Barozzi / Veiga won the coveted 2015 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award. The biennial €60,000 prize is considered to be one of Europe's highest-ranking contemporary architecture awards.
Luz House wins Emerging Architect Special Mention from 2015 Mies van der Rohe Award
Luz House designed by ARQUITECTURA-G received the €20,000 cash prize for the Emerging Architect Special Mention, following the announcement of the 2015 Mies van der Rohe Award winner. Completed in 2013, Arquitectura-G restored and redesigned the private single-family house for client Luz Almeida.
2015 RAMSA Travel Fellowship awarded to Yale University grad student
Robert A.M. Stern Architects awarded their annual RAMSA Travel Fellowship to master's student Michelle Tianhui Chen from the Yale University School of Architecture. The $10,000 fellowship will fund Chen's proposed travels to India.
The Tate’s Turner Prize 2015 shortlist
The Tate announced the four shortlisters for their prestigious Turner Prize 2015, which awards a British artist under the age of 50 in recognition for outstanding exhibition or other form of presentation of their work in the preceding year.
Atelier YokYok to install winning “Treedom” centerpiece for Budapest’s summer Sziget Festival
Parisian practice Atelier YokYok won the commission to design the centerpiece installation, "Treedom", at Budapest's vibrant Sziget Festival this summer.
The winning “Authenticity” designers of the 2015 Architectural League Prize
The Architectural League announced the six winners in the Architectural League Prize portfolio competition, whose theme this year was Authenticity. The portfolio competition invites designers around North America who have been out of school 10 years or less.
